looking for Gateway drivers
I have a Gateway e2000 win xp desktop that needed the hard drive replaced. I have an original copy of xp that I used, but the video setting is at its lowest setting and can't be changed. I need to find the drivers for it. I don't have the original recovery disc. I went to Gateways suport site and read that a company called MPC took over some of Gateway's earlier models. MPC's website no longer exists. Where can I get the drivers or recovery disc? Are those free driver download sites safe to use? Thanks.

The video card be it a pci'agp etc or internal is made by ATI/nVidia or SIS. You shouyld be able to get the drivers from one of them.
This free app should be able to give you info on the video card:

If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

What chipset do you have then? Go the chipset manufacturer's site and download the video drivers there.

After searching for a users guide and finding one, it looks like it has an Intel i82845GL chipset. I would then go to Intel's website and download the video drivers there?

Yes. Go to the intel driver site for the 845GL chipset.
