display issues

Recently there was an Nvidia update included in the windows upate for my vista 32, it was like 174mb,, as in the past i did not install it. But recently it appears the system has some issues with graphics. Are you better not to install from this if this might be the issue.

I wouldn't install drivers off of Windows Update. Get them from Nvidia directly.
You didn't state the make/model of your video card.

When was the last time you cleaned out the heatsink/fan on your GPU? Some problems can be caused by overheating.

Well, see if that fixes the "issues" before you go messing around with drivers.

how much do you charge for cleaning?

in control panel nvidia has a control panel there, but when i tried to locate drivers i brought up internet explorer and i could not get the drop downs to work, to check the drivers, presently after blow out things are a ok so far.

Did you not look in device manager
Expanfd the video
R-click the adapter and select properties
Select the driver tab

If it is working, DO NOT UPDATE as newer is not better after a certain age with video drivers. In fact burn thos on a cd and keep it against future need.

not sure if i know how to burn those or where to find them or it?

i went to nvidia but i don't have java on vista 32 so it couldn't scan the system
tese were 2 i found but no clue if they are right

Or if it is a custom / home built rig, then post the make and model of the motherboard.

Is Java supposed to be used, not sure why it's not on that rig.

You said that you cleaned the GPU heatsink, but onboard video doesn't have that. I'm guessing you meant the CPU heatsink.

The 307.83 set should work, but don't install new drivers if the "issues" went away. You still didn't tell us what the "issues" were.

The issues started to be display, some colors not normal on display, then it started to blue screen, i had it running saturday, for quite awhile ok when i used it, later i went in and could get no display, so powered it down, restart, it did a disk check, took a while, really thought it was mb, hd or ps, as in the past. Since you reminded me to blow the dirt out, no problems at all last night. Haven't woke it up yet today.

When i was in device manager,i did the driver check, and for the first time in my experience, the device manager area, found drivers, but did not take, other wise i did not do anything as on nvidia i was not sure, and it was working, so i let it be. i did a search on nvidia and found those 2 links, but i did not know.
