Resolved [RESOLVED] volume icon left hand upper corner of screen

all of a sudden I noticed a blue volume icon that looks like a speaker and some steps on the upper left hand corner of my desktop. when I right click on it to try to move it I get my recycle bin which is underneath it. rearranging the icons doesn't help either. It is also on top of my screen wherever I am on line, it 1/2 way covers my back button. I just got at&t uverse installed on this computer wireless on Sat but hadn't noticed that until tonite. I don't know if it is related to that or if this is a virus type thing. does anyone know? I still have my normal volume icon on the taskbar. the thing that bothers me is it not only stays on the desktop it stays in the upper left corner no matter what......
    thanks

R-click and select properties. What does it say?

thanks for the tip, if it happens again I'll do that. I came back to mark this thread resolved (not sure how to do that). For some reason it went away as strangely as it appeared! Thanks again!
