Trying Windows 7 beta out, (moronically I upgraded my Vista instead of dual booting...) and it just refuses to accept the proper 1680 x 1050 resolution, even to the point of that damn white post it size note drifting on a black background in screensaver fashion telling me that what I'd put in was no good, and optimum was 1680 x 1050 at 60hz - WHAT I HAD PUT IN.
Only it doesnt click back. It stays up and wont go onto Windows again, and needs repaired or reinstalled.
I've put on the latest drivers, and it just wont list 1680x1050 even, now - Vista had no problem with that setting, and even W7 had originally flickered ointo the right setting then something happened and it went off, never to return.
I'm tearing my hair out.

This is why you should never use a beta as the main OS - there are going to be bugs aplenty. What are your hardware specs?
AMD dual core 4200
2gb ddr
2 large hard drives
Fujitsu-Siemens (Asus) Mobo
You're quite correct, of course. But amazed at the problems trying to get the proper resolution. Will try an earlier driver,. but it did
run right for a brief time, and I can't fathom out why, and if it did why not now ?
Like the old blues songs go "Woke up this mornin'...."
Only I didn't have "the blues" but the whole bloody thing put itself right !
1680x1050 without me doing a thing
WEIRD
