    Virus scanning

If a computer with only one drive is suspected being infected, can I take the hard drive out and connected to another computer and scan for virus? Will this setup scan the registry of the problem computer. Will this scanning actually infect the other computer?

    Thanks for your advice.

Since you are not booting from the possibly infected drive, you should not infect the clean system as long as you do not attempt to execute any files on the suspect drive. You should be able to scan it for viruses and malware without any problems. In some cases this is the only way to remove some malware. I am not aware of any antivirus software that will scan the registry of the slave drive, however, you can load and edit the registry of that drive if you need to search for and remove entries.
