Unhappy Weird Winamp Fault - HELP!

    Hi,

I know I should be putting this on the Winamp forums but for some reason it's not letting me post!

This morning when loading up Winamp, it was just frozen from the start and I couldn't click on anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing. Just tried it again and I managed to start playing a song but then it wouldn't let me maximise the window and I could only quit with task manager. I haven't installed any third party plugins or anything weird, so what's going on?

    Thanks

I'd try uninstalling again and then manually deleting any Winamp folders that are left over from an incomplete install (pretty common) then reinstall again. They may contain corrupt files that are causing the problem. Also try resetting to default preferences and if this doesn't help try reinstalling any codec pack you may have installed in the past as well.

    Hi,

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling etc, and it's still really slow - it takes around a minute to load up Winamp. It's like it's just delayed or something. I've only just reformatted the PC so I thought everything would be nice and clean - Winamp has always booted within 10 seconds in the past! Help!

Try disabling any plugins. I'd also try temporarily installing an earlier version to see if that makes a difference.

Did you reboot between the uninstall and install?

Might even want to shutdown, wait 30 seconds
then boot up and then install.
