Resolved [RESOLVED] Toolbar problem using Excel 2000.

After many problems I have done a complete reinstall of my Win XP Pro Sp3 and in the process lost some data. I re-installed the missing data from my Roxio Backup. Now I find that one Excel Workbook has a new section at the head under the normal bars. (SEE attached Excel .jpg). It was the only Workbook that I had to replace.

I am still using MS Office 2000 but it is fully updated. I would like to remove this new section as I have no need of it and it takes up desk space.

I have tried the options and the only difference I see is that they include an option called "Envelope" which has it's box ticked and I cannot untick it. I do not know if it related to the new section.

How do I overcome this problem??????

Look in Tool, Customize, toolbar tab.
I have the top 2 and the bottom one checked.

    Thanks Train.
I also have one called "Envelope" which is ticked and I cannot untick it.
Any suggestions as to how to remove the stubborn tick.

Go to Help in the menu and run Detect and repair in the extended dropdown.

    Thanks Train.
That did not work. It finished with a dialogue screen (See attached screen shot.) which would indicate that my roxio backup or my computer has messed up. It is a valid MS Office installation registered in my name and is regularly updated by MS Update.

I have resolved the problem by copying all the sheets to a new workbook.
There I have all my normal toolbars.

I have installed the latest installer from Microsoft for Win XP Sp3. and then was able to run the Detect and Repair function. I am still unable to remove the tick from the Envelope Box. And unable to remove the E Mail function panel from the toolbar section.

    OUCH!
I had hopes. And that is as far as I ever had to go.
Sorry, but I have reach the limit of my knowledge.

Thanks Train. I always value your help.
Although my data is now secure I would still like to find out how to get rid of that unwelcome section (If and when time permits).
I think we can call this resolved as I have overcome the problem by bypassing it.

FYI - the "envelop" is the results of click File->Send To which is what one would do to send the spreadsheet via email.

Apparently you then did a File Save As and saved the email message.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

I have now solved the problem and removed the unwanted panel.

The solution was achieved by clicking on the fifth icon from the left on the standard toolber. This icon is in the shape of an envelope and it toggles the Email panel on or off. And it removed the "Envelope" and its tick box from the customise screen.
Just clicking on the Icon on one of the Sheets removed the panel from all sheets in the Workbook.

Thanks to all who offered help.
