[RESOLVED] Online file storage
I'd like to store my music files online and delete them from my computer.
How safe is it to this?
What sites are reputable?
Do the files stay online 'forever'?

What is your budget?
Do you just want to store the files or do you need to be able to use em?

Do you have a older computer?
If yes, make a file server out of it, network them and transfer your music.
That way you have them handy if you wish to play them .

My suggestion would be to burn them to DVD as mp3's. I'd rather trust a good quality DVD disk than either an online storage site or your hard drive. Most players today have no problem playing them from disk...
Stupid question? No such thing!

I have transferred my music to my MP3 player. I don't really need the files to stay on my computer, yet I'm afraid to delete them--if anything happens to the player I would have nothing. That's why I was thinking of storing them online and leaving them there. It's 379 MB so it's not an awful lot.
I don't have a CD Burner so can't burn them to disk. I do have a flash drive where I keep my documents folder backed up and the music is on there. Maybe I don't need the online storage???

Get another key so you can transfer then to someone that will burn them for you.
A cd/dvd burner comes in handy, whether installed or external.

I'd go with the concept of putting them onto a key to give to someone to burn. But don't delete them from your drive until you get the CD copy... USB thumb drives aren't the most reliable storage medium.
Any reliable, long term online storage will cost money and even at only 3-4 dollars/month within a year or two you'll have spent enough money to have bought a CD/DVD recorder.
ISP storage space may work but if you ever change ISP's then you'll need to rethink the whole process again.
