Wireless connection problems
I recently set up a wireless network at my apartment. I am getting a signal from the router, but I am showing speed of 1.0 Mbps or sometimes 11.0 Mbps.
I can not connect to the network.
I am sending packets but not receiving them.
I took my computer and router to my mom's house, plugged it in from the modem, and I instantly got access to the internet.
Can anybody help me out?

If you took all your kit to your mum's house and it worked, then I'd be inclined to presume your internet connection isnt working (esp since you have tried by wire)
Can you plug your PC/Laptop straight into your modem? Work then?
As for wireless, theres a hole lot of questions that I need to ask.
1) How far are you from the router?
2) What router is it? Make/model?
3) What wireless card do you have in your laptop/pc?
4) Are there many other wireless networks around?
5) Is there a lot of RF unfriendly material in between you nad your router? (Walls, metal beams, other 2.4Ghz equipment)
