Resolved [RESOLVED] Media Player will not play web content

Not sure why, but my Windows Media Player 11 now will not play web content videos in full mode that have the "mpg" or "mpeg" file extension. If I "Save target as" it will play them in the Explorer preview pane, but not in full mode. The file association is set for Media Player, but it still will not play in full mode. Any clues? It plays wmv's just fine.

Microsoft ai-yeeeeee.......I mean, Microsoft IE 7. It seems that Micropoop in their infinite wisdom completely integrated WMP into the OS like a tick on a hound dog and it is impossible to reinstall or overinstall to correct problems. I could do a system restore, but that would screw up a couple of installations I've made recently. A Vista repair might work, but right now i'm too lazy to reinstall some drivers that i know the repair would mess up. I'm being difficult, ain't I?

    Did you try Firefox?
What happens when you try full mode?

Issue resolved. I installed an All-In-One Codec package that restored WMP 11 back to normal. The best I can figure out is that a Creative X-Fi update possibly knocked out WMP 11, screwing up the codec(s) somehow.

That's exactly what it is called...All in 1. I tried another package called Vista Codecs and it didn't solve the problem...this one did. I even tried a Registry cleaner and, while it found and fixed some problems, it didn't effect the WMP 11 problem.
