windows mail
how do you stop this pop up everytime you close windows mailAttachment 7560

Hi Frebo, my cat has taken a shine to your bug did the same for Elaine's as well. Your question:-
You can stop the pop up from coming up everytime by going to the mail "tool"
then click "options" then click "advanced" then click "maintenance" then
unclick the box that says " Compact the database on shutdown every 100 runs.
The popup messages should cease.

thanks jenae i tried that but everytime i uncheck it and reopen the checkmark is there again is there any other way
i even tried changing the numbers and that didnt work
after i uncheck it i see no place to click apply, mine just has a close button
got to admit i swiped the bug from elaine

Hi, I take it you have allowed it to compact and this message keeps coming back? If so check the folder where messages are stored "options" again or you could download WMutil and let it do it for you, I don't use WM I use Outlook from office 2003.

if you compact the mail it will stop- for a while but i dont get that much mail and i have plenty of space so i would just like to stop it. will try your suggestion
