Vista not able to run some XP programs
Hi Guys,
figured this was a long shot, but what the heck. My old XP computer's
motherboard toasted about a month back, and I figured it was time
to get my hands dirty on an inexpensive at the time Gateway pc
running Vista. The trouble was, when I managed to move all my files
across, I still had some oddities that would not allow me to install the
programs I ran in XP; is there a compatibility setting I'm missing ?
the type like they had in XP that let you run windows 98 programs ?
Also, how do you switch on the "3d" settings [I have a graphics card
capable of handling it, just don't know how]
Thanks in advance

Indeed there is:
Using Vista Compatibility Mode
You may find this useful too:

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "3D settings", are you referring to the Aero glass transparency effects?
Nick.
