LCD/DVD Combo???
Howdy,
Is there any truth to the rumor that a TV, LCD/DVD combo will die sooner than if they were bought separately?
Some salesman was trying to get me to spend quite a bit more for a LCD TV that did not have the DVD built in. He said the heat generated by the LCD burns out the DVD player.... I wanted the built in DVD player because it takes up less room and there are fewer wires...and it was less expensive.
Anyway, I did not buy any of the TVs; I thought I'd get someone else’s opinion that isn't just out to make a sale.
So, if you have any personal experience/knowledge of these DVD/LCD TVs, please give me your opinion.
Thanks!

I'd think they'd last just as long as separate units, since they were designed to work together in one unit. Besides, what heat from an LCD is he talking about? My LCD monitors run way cooler than my old CRTs ever did.
Now, if you'll step right this way I have a nice.....
