    Vivitar Vivicam 3350B driver error

Hi. I am having a driver error with my daughters Vivitar Vivicam 3350B. When I tried to upload the pictures, I get the message: "Could not open camera" and "Camera Connection Failure (or error) or somethin', somethin', somethin'". Oddly, the page at vivitar.com for that driver no longer exixts. Thanks for any help or attempts. It's all appreciated.

An easy option to consider would be to use a $10 card reader.

That will give you faster uploads than connecting the camera directly to the computer and you won't have to carry around cables etc

    To General Winters

Hello again. Thanks for the feedback. Can you tell me what a card reader is and where I can get one?
    Thanks again,

You can buy a card reader practically anywhere, local supermarkets, computer shops, camera shops, ebay etc.

At its most basic its a small box with slots for the various makes of memory cards (Sd, MemoryStick, Compact Flash, XD etc) , that connect to computers via a usb cable.

Assuming your camera uses SD cards then you can buy a reader thats about the same size as a thumbdrive/flashdrive and has one slot only, for example see here.

Easy to carry around in your pocket and allows any computer, a recent mac or windows (excepting win95/98) to access the drive without needing to carry a driver disk, just plug in, wait till its recognised and slot card in.

You know, there is one word that proves that Rowling writes a better love story than Meyer, and do you know what that word is?

    "Always."

Just watch the video on how to load the chip.

    Sure saves on camera batteries.

No Cards, Just a Cable to a USB

Thanks for your time and input. It is greatly appreciated.

No Cards, Just a Cable to a USB. It's just a cheap $20 or $30 camera and only holds so many pictures and for only so long, then you loose them. You need a certain TWAIN driver to download them to your hard drive. It connects to the USB port with a 5-pin Mini B on the camera end.

    OUCH!

Guess it is time to upgrade if there are no drivers available now.

Why I download them and burn them to a couple cds. One here and one off site. Then if things disappear, I still have them.

    Thanks again, guys!

If I do get it working, I'll let you know. I'm gonna try using a p2p filesharing program and see if someone out there has one they are sharing. Wish me luck.
Again, thank you both very much for your time.
