[RESOLVED] CanoScan N650U CD?
My old Canon scanner CD has gone walkabout. Anyone have an idea where I might find a copy of the CD that came with the scanner?

Go to the link below:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...1&modelid=6858
Chose which one you want preferrably this: Drivers / Software. Then this one: Scanner Driver ScanCraft CSU v5.7.1a for Windows 98/Me/2000/XP
You can also get the software: CanoScan Toolbox v2.2.3 for Windows 98/Me/2000/XP
You do not need these drivers to be on a cd.

Photolady,
Greetings from Minnesota!!
Scanner Driver ScanCraft v 5.7.1.a is for a TWAIN Driver ONLY (which I've already installed). The Canoscan Toolbox is what I need but after downloading it to my desktop when I tried to open it I got the message: ScanGear Toolbox is not a Valid Win32 Application. I'm not sure it will run on my Dell's XP Home.
Any ideas?
Dave.

Well, actually it is a valid 32bit application but there is something else wrong on your computer and as soon as I find the fix, I'll post it.

I sent an inquiry to Canon regarding the install of ToolBox.
I've googled my eyes off. Still no light on the subject.

Go here http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...nloadIndexAct; then follow the instructions. If you get a pop up message, allow it.
If you get some sort of page error, click on Download Library

jholloway,
Clicked the link-no load. Download library-same-same. Canon must be doing maintenance on their site. Will try later. 2:30 CDT 8/30/07.
Thanks

Just went to the last address I gave. Got Application Error, clicked on Download Library, under Product Menue clicked on Select Catagory, clicked on scanners, clicked on Select Product Type, clicked on CanoScan series, clicked on Select Model, scrolled down to N650U and clicked on it, clicked Go which took me to CanoScan N650U page, clicked on Drivers/Software, got Pop Up blocked, .... click here which I did, allowed pop up, took me back a page, clicked on Drivers/Software, got new window which has drivers, tool box, &c.

The cannon address you posted above is still not working for me
(fri 4:30pm 8/31). Same as yesterday the page says Canon is having a problem and to stop back later.
Very strange indeed.
Could you post the complete address and I will try to copy and paste it into my address bar?
What a hassle!
Thanks for your help, you're very kind.

I get the same thing when I click on the address in my pervious post, but when I click on Download Library at the top of the page just under the red bar I get the the next page(s) I mentioned. Did you click on Download Library?
This is the address for that page, but I don't know if it will work http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...wnloadIndexAct
But the other does work.

I just tried the above and it worked.

I wonder if I have a particular "setting" enabled (or disabled) on my machine as I went to the neighbors house yesterday and was able to download the canon toolbox to a CD with no problem at all.
I then put the CD in my old Dell 8100, downloaded the files and everything looks and works correctly. The Canon 650U had no problem communicating with my Epson 880.
Anyone have an idea as to what setting is preventing the Dell from viewing the Canon pages?

What browser are you using? Some websites prefer IE, though I don't use that much, I do use Opera and Canon website loads fine with it. IE7 has problems.....period. And I refuse to use it.
