[RESOLVED] Firewall download to CD procedure
Does anyone know how I can download ZoneAlarm free firewall (or something similar) to a CD (over 20mb ) so I can install it on my machine BEFORE I get on the w.w.w. It appears that an open internet connection is necessary and it will download to the hard drive automatically without giving me a chance to put the downloading info on a disc.
Without a firewall in place I get infected immediately by malware that bombards me with a Messenger Service warning of dire consequences if I do not install their software. (At this moment I am awaiting advice as to how to rid my machine of this crud.)
Thanks for any help.

Not sure I understand the questions seeing how you're asking this question on the internet?
You can download directly to a flash drive and or from a friends or a work pc.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

When the download info box appears and asks whether to RUN or SAVE TO DISK what would be my next step?

When the download info box appears I'm not sure what to do in order to get the info to a place where I can transfer it to a disc.
I'll se if I can get the info to my HDD as Train suggests.

Save it. Be sure you know where you save it to.

Opened up the program files on the HDD, dragged the program to the "files to burn" list and the rest was easy-peasy.
Thanks for the info. The next time I wipe the hard drive I'll be able to install a firewall before connecting to the net. No more SMITFRAUD!!
Thanks everybody and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

I burn a lot of programs that way, just to save them as they do tend to disappear off the internet with time.
Or worse, become PAY for programs.
Happy Holidays to you and yours !
