No network & Internet connection
Please help me that I have a Win XP Pro computer suddenly cannot connect to the Internet or view other computers in the workgroup.
It is connected to the router by cable, has IP address, can ping the router and other computers, but cannot access to the Internet or see other computers in My Network Places. Other computers (Win 7) can ping it but can't see it in the Network but can go to other computers and access to the Internet.
If I boot the problem computer in Safe Mode, there is no problem.
I have refreshed IP, remove and then re-install TCP/IP protocol in network property, re-run Network connection wizard, all tries failed. I can see the Status of network connection and it sent some packets and received 2 or 3 then stop receiving. No hardware and software installation was done between last successful connection and the failed one.
Thanks for your advice.

If all is well in Safe Mode, then someting that is running in Normal Mode is the cause. Check the results of an "ipconfig /all" command is Safe Mode and Normal Mode for any differences. Maybe scan for malware also.

Still not working
The parameters giving by ipconfig /all in Normal and Safe modes are the same.
Hose Name: Computer3
DNS suffix search list: gateway.2wire.net
DHCP enabled: YES
Auto config: YES
IP address: 192.168.1.101
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.254
DHCP servers: 192.168.1.254
DNS servers: 192.168.1.254
Lease Obtained: Aug 27, 2012, 10:28:12am
Lease Expired: Aug 28, 2012, 10:28:12am
I have ping the problem computer from my laptop, no response. ping to the router is OK.
But ping from the problem computer to both my laptop and router are OK.
I just download and install the malwarebytes and doing the scanning. These tasks are done under safe mode. So far (35 min, 115000 objects scanned), no malware detected, but scanning is carrying on.

Thanks jdc2000.
It's found that McAfee's recent update causes the problem which is now resolved.
