    Unhappy Assign program to print

    Hi All

I have recently gone to print some graphics that I did on my system and have found that my photo management system (ACDSee) seems to have taken over the printing task, as a result this has screwed up all my printing settings. I want to be able to print them from the windows picture and fax viewer as I used to. I can't seem to find any way to re-asign the program. I am using XP home. I can get them to open with WP&F Viewer.

Please help this is driving me nuts, well more nutty than I normally am!!!!

Asigning what program opens my graphic isn't the problem, getting them to print via the windows picture and fax viewer is. I used to have a window open when I clicked print and it gave me all sort of options from size to what I was printing, this I am certain was part of the windows and fax viewer, this is what I want back.

    Any help would be wonderful.

I use ACDsee as well but the only time it's own printing gui opens is when I'm printing from within that program. If I print from any other place then the default Windows printing gui opens.

If that's the behaviour you're seeing I don't believe there's any way around that except to open the graphics temporarily in another viewer like the default Windows picture viewer.

yep my ACDSee only printed things from inside its program, now it seems to have hijacked my system!!! I can view the graphics in any appropriate program I like but to print from the picture and fax viewer seem impossible, I can view my graphics in wpf viewer but NOT print from it as I used to and want/need to again.

I don't understand how this canhave happened, any ideas?

    Hi Train

don't even remeber seeing something like that, but I only have one printer available so there surely can't be a problem there???

Yes there is, so take a good look as I think ACDSee has placed a line in there. Like the silly Microsoft XPS writter was added to mine.

Checked that and everything as it should. Have manage to get my photo printing wizard up and that has given me the screen I remembered. But, to get it I had open the graphic and the click the print button on the bottom then I could select what I wanted to print. Why can I not get the photo printing wizard up when I select the files I want to print as I did in the old way? Any ideas on how to sort this problem completely?

And make sure your printer is the default.
Start > Run (type in ) Control printers and click OK

The printer and fax folder will open.
R-click you printer and select set as default if it is not.

yep printer is default and all ok in that department, still trying to figure out why my photo printing wizard will not come up when I highlight files and then ask to print without opening them.
