    Resolved [RESOLVED] JavaRE; "Instalation failed, wizard was interupted"

    Any JavaRE later than V6 update7 can't be install without getting this message:
    "instalation failed, wizard was interupted"

    V6 update 7 installs with no issue.

    Details;
    XP Pro sp3,
    Tried V6 update21 (current) down to update 10 all failed,
    These are all the full offline versions direct from their website,
    No AV program running,
    I even used a specific program to remove all traces of old installs called JavaRa;
    http://raproducts.org/wordpress/software
    No other error message or error numbers.

    Ideas??

    videobruce--It probably is too late since you have at least partially uninstalled the Java version you had, but this will completely uninstall Java

    Here is a more positive idea

    I think I know how to use add/remove programs.

    Again, the link I provided does remove all traces of the old program which was written specifically Java, but I will do a registry search.

    Tried running the app., but I get a error message "the application configuration is incorrect".
    Does the program need a specific service to be running?

    Always.

    I gave up wasting any more time. I took a image from my other bootable drive and just restored it to that troublesome O/S. Done.
