Vista Desktop
On my Windows XP, I have customized my desk top to look like Windows 98. It is the color, etc. that I prefer. Can I get that look on my friend's Vista desktop?
Thanks so much. This is a great forum.

You can get whatever you want. Personally, I am looking for the "Windows for Workgroups 3.1" look on Vista Ultimate....
Just kidding....I'm sure you can find all kinds of third-party stuff to go retro on Vista....check out Wincustomize for skins, wallpapers, etc..

Right-click the desktop, choose Personalize, then Window colour and appearance. In there click "Open classic appearance properties for more colour options", and in that dialog choose "Windows Classic" from the drop-down list.

bistro, I am 70 years old. Change is hard. LOL.
Thanks Super Sparks. I appreciate your help. As I wrote in another post I am trying to help a 79 year old with his new Vista and I have Windows XP. Wish me luck.
