new laptop borks up router
i have an older wireless router that is connected to a dsl modem.
network is as follows:
hardwired:
.....laserjet printer
.....xp pc
.....vista pc
.....win 7 pc
wireless:
.....old xp pc
.....xp netbook
.....ps3
when i introduce my new laptop (win 7), whether it be by turning on the wireless card or plugging it directly (cat 5), i get a limited access network msg followed by my router cycling on and off until i unplug the laptop.
ive tried disabling home groups, disabling ipv6 ... but i cant seem to figure out why this laptop causes my router to behave badly (i think it may have soemthing to do with win 7; with the exception that i have a pc wired into the router no problems)
my router is old, Dlink DI-524, i believe. i tried upgrading the firmare to 1.5 but that didnt do anything besides wipe my settings and rename my connection.
thanks for any suggestions you might have!

You need a new router. Much as I hate to say it.

Some of us run into that very same problem with ipv6 and that new router was the only fix.
