Resolved [RESOLVED] [XP] New SATA Drive not initialised

I have a brand new (4 weks old) HP xw4400 workstation running XP SP2.
I installed a new drive ST3500641AS (this drive was recommended by HP for my workstation) but I have the following issue.
The disk appears on Device Manager/Disk Drives (as does my primary disk) but when I select properties/Volumes for the new drive, it states that the status is "Not Initialized". I am sure there is a simple explaination for this.
When I booted the workstation after installing the new drive, I was not offered any options on boot up to configure this drive.
Device manager does not offer me any options to format or partition this drive, so I am at a loss as to where to format this drive and therefore (hopefully) make it available.

    Many Thanks

Hi and Welcome to Virtual Dr.

You need to go into Control Panel|Admin Tools|Computer Management|Storage|Disk Management|And format the drive from there.
