    Arrow Activation Help

I have a machine with the Windows XP Home sticker on it with the 25 digit code.

I do not have the original XP disk that came with the computer but I do have another OEM XP Home disk.

I tried the code with my copy of XP and it did not work.

I recall someone mentioned a registry fix, but I don't remember specifically.

    Is it a oem cd?
If not, then it will not work as most Brand name companies use OEM in their building.

What Train said, besides this is not the forum for 'fixes'.

    re:

I have read the AUP agreement and I do not understand how I would be in violation with my original post.

The machine I want to install XP has a valid XP license stickered on it. I do not believe I am violating any copyright if I use a different XP disk. They are bothh home edition.

If I'm wrong, please forgive me.

You will not use these forums to violate any laws nor to discuss illegal activities.

Now that is caused the fuss.

Now XP comes in Pro and Home and there are 2 types of CDs, Retail and OEM.

The key from one will not work in the other.
EXAMPLE: XP home is installed by the factory and is more than likely a OEM CD was used. So if you have a OEM cd of XP Home, the Key on the case should work.
But you would be surprised that the installed key and the one on the case do NOT match.

Always good to use a tool like this just in case that is true.

    Here are some OEM examples.

I got it to work, I just clicked "Change Key" in activation setup, changed the key to the one printed on the machine then activated by phone. I don't know why I didn't see that option before.

    Thanx for your help.
