I have an emachine that has a 1.6 ghz P4 in it and usually it seems like there are some screws that you can unscrew from the top of the heatsink to remove it but this one seems like there arne't any accessable screws. Do I have to take the motherboard out and unscrew it from the bottom? Or am I missing something?
Ok, so I took the mobo out and it has those points that expand once they go through the hole in the motherboard. Can I install this heatsink on another motherboard?
The 4 mounting holes are in standard locations, so the HSF unit should fit on another P4 mobo (don't try it on an AMD mobo though). You may have to remove the mounting frame for the standard heatsink from the mobo first.
