delete data off floppy disks
WinXP Home SP2
Have bunch of Floppies that have data on them.
Would like to delete permanently.
As would give senior group who could use these.
Trying to find something better than just format. As that still leaves the files intact. Is there a form of "Kill Disk" for floppies.
Or
Does and how would you use Kill Disk for HD with a floopy???

You could place them on a big magnet... like the back of a large(ish) loudspeaker (12" woofer) etc but you'd (or they'd) still need to format them afterwards to get them ready for data recording.

How talented are these seniors when it comes to data recovery?
How important is the data that's on the floppies?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

I dunno how "smart" the seniors are that will use these floppies.... but if one only is as conversant as me on computers. Ca-Boom... there is a lot of personal info available for phishing. Would rather gove the KillDisk a try.
Thanks for the heads up on that one.

I bought a big electro magnet at Radio Shack a few years ago. It really kills those old floppys. Of course, you will have to reformat them in order to use them again.
Some people see more in a walk around the block than others see in a trip around the world.

I know you have heard it before.
My son had note HAD up north at country house 2 huge speakers
which as he said I don't use so I put them out to the garbage.
My one thought The Magnets... Gone.
So... hunt.
In the meantime KillDisk.
