Will Reinstalling iTunes Erase My Music Library?

I'm running XP Pro. When I plug in my iPod on occassion or click on check for updates in iTunes...it crashes XP to a black screen.

If I uninstall and reinstall iTunes and update, will I lose my music library? This seems to be a common problem from my research. iTunes must conflict with something.

Here's how to backup the library: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302392

One it is done, you can then be at ease to uninstall iTunes without wiping out all of your music.

Thanks for the reply...I'll back it up. I didn't want to go back and recreate the iTunes library!

Next, why is my iPod crashing Windows on occasion?
