    Resolved [RESOLVED] PC constantly accessing floppy during shutdown

    WinXPHome SP2

    A new problem has set in.
    When shutting down, the PC attempts to acces the floppy drive several times as evidenced by the grinding noises emanating from within.
    Any ideas whats causing this?

    Are you using Norton Anti Virus by any chance ?

    Thanks for the clue.
    Found that Nod 32 was accessing boot sector during shutdown!
    Unchecked this option and the noises have ceased.
