Computer Freeze Virus
Hi
My friends computer has a virus which freezes the computer. He installed Spybot however while running this it freezes and he cannot continue. He then downloaded Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06 and successfully ran this however he then went back to Spybot and it froze again. Upon restart the follwing error message appeared:
"We apolozise for the inconvience but windows did not start successfully. A recent change might have caused this"
Windows could not start becuase the follwing file is missing or corrupt:
Windows/system32/config/system
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Thanks

If your friends operating system is Windows XP use the restore feature to roll back to a date before you installed Spy-Bot. Here's how: When your computer first starts to boot up right after it shows the drives installed press and hold the F8 key. This will show you the Boot menu with restore options. Use the arrow keys to highlight "Last Known Good Configuration" (your most recent settings that worked) and press Enter. After you get a boot, I would run an online scan (if you can)Panda is a good one:

Hope this helps.

Sounds like the Black worm virus has infected that computer. Those system files missing are part of that baddie.
