Check the Pioneer site to see if any special drivers are needed.

See if this fix helps, it often does the trick:

CDROM or DVD drives appear to be missing...

ok update....my original ide config was i had my cd-r/rw and my hdd on the primary ide cable hdd was master cd-rom was slave and on the secondary ide i had my dvd-rom set to master no my ide config is hdd is master on primary ide cable and dvd-rom is master and cd-r/rw is slave on secodnay ide cable. the drive is now showing up and everything and working fine, but everytime i start my computer my bios screen takes a while to go thorugh startup and everytime is says Primary Slave Drive Incompatible. i tried making cd-r/rw master and dvd-rom slave but same thing happens the only way it doesnt happen is if i go back to my original ide config or disconnect the dvd-rom. i have to press f4 everytime my computer starts up now. any idea why or how to fix it? thanks for the replies

Have you recently done a firmware update ? also re check power cables etc etc again might be a dodgy pin some where..also go to devices again click the view button above and click show hidden devices,I my self then deleted the drive, shut down, did a couple of boots with out the ROM connected, then set the ROM up again and booted up and bingo it came in..

yes they have worked before. theonly thing diff i did this time when i reformatted and set my comp back up was i didnt go through x-setup tweaking tool. thats the only difference i know of. and no i havent done a firmware upgrade or anything. and as for the faulty pins they have worked together and well before and i havent disconnected any of them since then. thanx for all the replies and help
