please help formatting problems xp
Hi I am trying to do system recovery on my computer (its hp xp). everytime I get to system recovery, It says missing partition cannot complete. My computer did not come with a disc or cd. I have done this a few times before with no problems. I guess someone deleted something. Is there anything I can do now.
Any help would be great
Thanks

Pavilion 511n - (P7475AR) Recovery CD-ROM ($12.08)

(Note: Looks like the same CD-ROM part number for both the P7475A and P7475AR).
Started on this HP page:

which lead me to the instructions on this HP page:

Someone remove D: partitition or wiped what was on it.
You now need the cd.
Or go out and buy a M$ retail XP cd. Then chase down all the needed driver.

Before you spend any money, see what HP want for those recovery CD's - an OEM Windows CD may not be more expensive, and is far, far more useful.

HP wants a mere twelve dollars and eight cents ($12.08) USD. (See above)

Ah, I missed that I suppose you can't grumble at that price anyway.

Seeing as the HP recovery cd has all the drivers and such that you need on it, that is the route I would go.
Now as for a M$ Window xp cd, you would HAVE to buy a brand spanking new one. Read $150 or possibly more depending on the version. And you do not have a OS that will allow you to use the upgrade versions of XP either.

Why were they $31 when the links showed $12.08 ?
Did you have to get 2 plus shipping and taxes.
