Reclaim partitions question(s)
Don't mind the drive letters but here is the basics:
PATA (60Gb)--IDE connected
-- C:drive = System (2Gb)--FAT
-- J:drive = Unused (58Gb)--NTFS
SATA (120Gb)--SATA connected
-- D:drive = Pagefile and Storage(20Gb)--FAT32
-- E:drive = Boot (30Gb)--FAT32
-- F:drive = WAS NTFS but now "Free" (30Gb)
(the rest of SATA is unallocated)
Okay I know, it's really weird but let me explain: Once upon a time I was going to dual boot W98SE/WXP Home (FAT32) and also have WXP Home (NTFS) on another partition. Hence J:drive and F:drive being NTFS. Since I am so damn comfortable with FAT32 (please don't preach NTFS to me, thanks), I have decided to wipe F:drive of NTFS and I want to make the SATA drive like so:
SATA (120Gb)
-- D:drive = Pagefile and Storage (20Gb) [Basically leave as is]
-- E:drive = Boot, programs, storage, the whole enchilada...by reclaiming the F:drive and the unallocated space (100Gb)
As far as my computer is concerned, my E:drive is the root, this is my main drive and where EVERYTHING is located (except the pagefile (D:drive) and system (C:drive). I don't ever access any other drive for programs, games, files, pictures etc....just E:drive.
Now, how do I reclaim the (2) partitions and make them all part of E:drive or make it all one extended partition with the drive letter E:?
Should I:
1)reformat J:drive to FAT32,
2)copy E: to J:,
3)reformat the SATA (except D: partition),
4)copy J: to E:
or is there a simpler way to make
[D:drive][E:drive][F:drive][Unallocated]....look like this
[D:drive][--------E:drive-------------]
TIA

You could try Partition Magic. As asked No NTFS proselytizing (or proselytising as the British would spell it).
