gdnUS2218.exe is trying to access the internet

I tried scanning with Trend Micro's new website interface, and about 10 minutes into the scan ZA alerted me of this .exe file. What is it? The only search references it comes up with online are Trojan issues. Is this bad? I have not allowed it to go online.

    Thank you

    XP Home SP2with all updates

Plus now there are 2 icons on my desktop with a new browser bar from testsecurityonline.com. Was this trend micro's idea or is this really spyware/virus/trojan work?

    Hi Bigtime,

From what I can tell, yes it's bad. You've done good to not allow it to go online and I can't believe Trend did that to you. Your best bet is to run a Hijackthis log and post it over in the "Hijackthis Logfiles" forum. Someone will be along shortly to assist you further.

    Good Luck !!

I went to a restore point that was in the past, and so it removed most of the icons. I thought all was well and I had to manually remove some of the start bar icons, but today the .exe file tried to re-access the internet. Does anybody know if this was Trend Micro's doing?

Trend did not do it, but it is normal for one AV program to miss something another may find.

So get second and maybe a 3rd opinion and even possibly a 4th. All Free online scanners.

    BitDefender Free Online Virus Scan
    http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php
Make sure you tick AutoClean under Scan Options

    Panda ActiveScan
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/active...n_principal.htm
Make sure you tick Disinfect automatically under Scan Options

    eTrust Antivirus Web Scanner
