    DDR memory

Please advice me whether I can put odd no. of DDR-1 memory module in the computer. I have 1 extra 512MB DDR-1 module and want to make use of it. Thanks.

Specify the make/model of your motherboard.

It's my friend's computer. I remember that's a AMD 1.8GHz and most likely a Gigabyte or MSI mobo. Thanks.

If you provide specific info you'll get a better answer.

I'm assuming the DDR stick is the same spec as the others.

If the motherboard is single channel, then you could just add it in. If it's dual channel, you will be taking a performance penalty.

To make things harder, it's of an age where it could be either single or dual-channel, by the sound of it. So we really would need the mobo details. Use this nice utility to find out:

    Since specifics was not stated,
You can look it up yourself,
    Cheers.
