[RESOLVED] Norton Anti virus and Skype problem
Hello all, me again, having slight trouble which hopefully will be easy to resolve.
Norton Anti virus is seeing Skype as a Worm and asking for permission to Allow, i keep giving it permission, keeps coming back.
How do i configure Norton to allow Skype?
Thanks, GEP

Is there not a checkbox with something along the lines of 'remember this decision'? Are you sure it's Norton AV and not Norton firewall?

Norton digging wrong worms
Hello Teknophobia, just got completely rid of internet security, just installed Norton Anti-Virus version 5 2005, which has worm protection included, don't know whether to turn that feature off and just leave Zonealarm, ad-aware, Pestpatrol on to look after worms etc.
It still coming up with Permit, or block Skype.
Norton doing its job too well.
Thanks, GEP

Hi GEP, sorry - been away from the PC (under mein fuhrer's orders!).
I think I may have found the solution thru Skype's forum as follows:
To stop the Norton Worm warning for Skype from continually appearing please try the following:
Open Norton Anti-Virus program -> Select “Options”-> Select “Internet Worm Protection” -> Select “Program Control” -> look for “Skype” in the list of programs -> click on Skype once -> click “Remove” ->Select “Yes” -> Select “OK” -> Close Norton.
Next time you start Skype or update or reload the program, Norton will detect Skype as a worm invasion. Simply click “OK” and you will not get anymore notifications.
HTH,
