    Question What is GTek

GTek is a hidden file with several sub files under Windows, All users, Application Data. If it is deleted it renews itself. What is it, and what does it do?

Never heard of it. Does it have an extention?

The only reference I find offhand pertains to a product which handles "online content management". Perhaps you've installed something from this company?

    Thanks shiva 42.

Some of the folders have files with extentions - .ini, .pk, .tmp, .cfg, and 1.21 MB with the extention .ucl.

Don't know where I got it, I've never heard of the company, and I have nothing pertaining to them.

This time I have gotten rid of it (so far) by deleating it and taking it out of the registry, which I had tried before, but one can't just out the GTek entry which I had done, the entire registry folder has to be removed. Every thing is working fine so far.

Glad to hear it... if it comes back, the .ini and .cfg files may provide some information about what it is and where it comes from. Usually those text files can be opened with any text editor if you're curious.
