No "Users & Groups" in Mgmt Console? XP Home SP2
Hi;
Where is the "Users & Groups" where I can make someone a PowerUser? It is not in my AdminTools>ComputerMgmt.
I still only have the initial 'administrator' user that was created at purchase time.
Anyone know how I get "Users & Groups" to come back? (already tried re-booting in Safe Mode ... still doesn't show up)
Is there some SERVICE that I must ensure is on?
TIA
Thanks!!! David

no.
R-click on my computer and choose manage -> it should be in Under "Local users and groups.
If its not there, then some one has turned it off in gpedit.mcs.
OR
You could go into Start -> Run -> MMC -> Enter
1. File -> Add/remove Snap-in -> Add -> Local Users and Groups -> Add -> Finish.

Thank you so much for the info!
I see, however, from the resultant pop-up I received, that I am not allowed to add this Snap-in under the Home Edition of XP ...
Man this Windows just keeps on tripping me up at every turn ... un-be-lievable ... absolutely un-be-lievable ...
So ... I'm stuck w/ either administrator or Limited accounts...? ???
Thanks!!! David

what would a "power user" type account be able to do over a limited but under an admin?
I would just make everyone an admin...

Power users can install applications and stuff, but not drivers or system services. That said, on most systems it's possible for power users to become administrators with a bit of effort, so it's more to prevent accidental screwups than anything.
But David's right -- this is one of those things that's Pro-only. With Home you just have Administrators and Users.
Safe computing is a habit, not a toolkit.
