    clock back

Hi: This site has certainly grown up. Hurray! Want to install a 512 Mb DDR (just DDR) in system with an exisitng 256 Mb DDR, I think 2700 FSB at 2.6v.
The 512 is listed by Crucial at 3200 FSB at 2.6v. I did a test install and the system is seeing the additional 512 memory, and boot up ok. I've heard that 3200 will back clock to the 2700. If so, I'm in good shape. If the 512 installation is going to create future problems, I'd better pull it. Suggestions? Regards to all, and keep up the great work at this site. Jim S

PC3200 is backwards compatible with PC2700, so you won't have any problems. It almost certainly wouldn't have booted at ll if there were any compatibility issues.

    ok

Great! Thanks so much for your nano reply. Figured all would be okay, but that second opinion can be critical, in life as well as in computers. Cheers! Jim S
