Is this motherboard installed in a branded computer, such as Dell? Foxconn's website does not list this motherboard, and going to archives does not produce anything on that model either.

Go to Foxconn's web site - look up the mobo and see what cpu's it support...

Steve, I went to Foxconn's site. They don't list this motherboard anywhere on there. Being it's a systmaxpc, I figured that was the reason. Even their archives don't have this board listed.

Hiya minimadman...keep in mind that since that mobo came in a branded system, its BIOS may be custom-written for Systemax and thus might not support all CPUs the "over-the-counter" version supports.

Even if your Mobo supports a little faster CPU you are hardly going to notice any difference, I'd be inclined to replace the mobo also, that way you can get whatever CPU you want.

Unfortunately you may not be able to stop there though, it may mean that you will also have to replace the Ram and video also, but this depends on what you have now.

I agree with Philgo, if you can pick up a faster CPU very cheaply it may be worth doing, but otherwise it isn't going to be worth the effort or expense.
