how would I know if my AGP slot is 3.0 .... the video card i'm looking into says it recommends that the agp slot be 3.0 ....I have an asus p4p800s motherboard ...minimum requirement 2.0, 3.0 recommended ....

Usually AGP 8x slots are AGP 3.0. And according to Asus your slot is also an 8x AGP3.0.

Everest will confirm whiuch AGP version you have in Devices>PCI Devices>Video Adapter.
