My Pictures won't open
I have windows 2000 and never had any problem opening My Pictures file folders in My Documents, but all of the sudden it won't open when I double click on My Pictures!!!
The Internet Explore icon in the upper right corner keeps searching, but never finds the file.
The only way I can see the pictures is when I go to the Start menu, Run and browse the my pictures file folder. Then I can view one picture at a time.
I'd like to be able to open MY Pictures in My Documents and view the thumbnail of the pictures like it was before.
Does anyone know what the problem is???
Thank you

Try this:
Start > Run
type in regsvr32 shimgvw.dll and hit enter (may need a reboot.)

How about renamiing the folder to something else ?
eg My pictures Old
Then see if you can see the files within it.
Then create a new My Pictures folder and copy the desktop.ini file from the old folder to the new one and reboot.

Create a new folder and copy the My Pictures Old folder to the new folder.
Then see if you can open that copy of the folder.

Thank you, I created a new folder, transfer all the pix to the new folder and now the folder opens finally!!!
I see the name of the JPEG file and when I double click them, I can see the pix. But thumbnail view doesn't work. When I click on thumbnail under View, the folder goes blank. Do you know what is causing it to go blank???
