Service Unavailable - DNS failure
Service Unavailable - DNS failure
The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later.
i get that like if i type in words for a search in address bar and sometimes if i type whatever.com etc
why?
Could be the DNS server is/was down. Seen that a few times over the years.

http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum97/82.htm seems like your not the only one.
I would delete cookies, temp internet files, and history.
Make sure to dump temp internet files not only from your browser but also from documents and setting> Whatever your username id name is> Local settings. You should see some temp folders there and such. make sure they are empty too.
If it ain't broke, you arn't trying hard enough!!

I had the same experience a few days ago, but it only lasted for a few minutes. No problem today.

steppenwolf--Any better success today?
Is this all sites? Are you using dialup or broadband? Are neighbors with similar setups having the same problem?
Did you install some new soft/hardware just before this happened?
You do not tell us your version of Windows. If this is a recent problem you could try
1) Win 98 family--Scanreg /restore from a MS-DOS prompt or resetting your DNS connections in winipcfg
2) WinXP family--System Restore or DNS settings in ipconfig.

I posted a possible solution in this forum today. You might want to hold off and see if it works for wolfe70.
