I want to install windows ME on my computer. I have 98SE at present.
My Windows ME is the full version and needs a empty hard drive I think as when I tried to install it once before I said it detected an operating system and I could not install..
My computer has 4 partitions C, D, E and F being the swap drive.
After backing up my data etc onto cd’s and format my c drive would Windows ME then install. ?
The other question I have is if I have any problems would I be able to reinstall my ghosted C drive back as it is now the way I would usually use Ghost?
From what I have read in different forums, W98 is a superior OS to ME. Most advice seems to be to stick with 98, or go to 2000 or XP.
ME is supposedly a lot less stable than any other OS.
Haven't used 98 or ME, so cannot give personal opinion.

Yes, that would work.

Yes.
I'd make a Ghost image just prior to fomating the C: drive. Probably not a bad idea to have it on a CD, and it can be stored on one of the other drives. Just make sure you've got a disk with Ghost on it, or you've got DOS version of Ghost stored on one of the other drives.
Just my $0.02 - I agree with the others in that WinME is not the best way to go. I'd stick with Win98SE or move up to WinXP.
ME was never ment to last. It was one more OS from M$ before they were found guilty of monopoly. Rumor was that it would only be around about 9 months before the next OS (XP) was to be released. 14 months later, XP was born. And the monopoly thing is now even worse IMHO!
Don't do it unless your that one in five people that it works for. 98se will work fine.
