Dial-up connection password is always doubled.
I am using win2000pro with IE6. On Dial-up connection dialog box write the user name and password, save password and then connect to the net. Disconnect and connect again, now the password is change, it's doubled, example if the password is "love" then it will change to "lovelove". Even if i write the password from internet properties > setting, write the password and click OK. Now see on dial-up connection dialog box the password is doubled. This does not happen on WinME With IE6.
How could it be like that ?

It's a Windows 2000 security feature to prevent people from guessing your password based on its length.

So it means that we can not save the dial-up connection user name and password on win2000 that would be pretty annoying coz we have to type the password everytime to connect to the net. it also means that the save setting user name & password is useless ?

No, it saves the password in the normal way - all it's doing is adding extra characters in the textbox that's visible. The actual password is not affected at all.
