Thousands of free (Legal) downloadable programs

I know there are lots of sites for downloading free stuff, but this is from PC Magazine, which gives it some legitimacy, and its also very organized with many categories. They have recently made these programs available for free, without having to pay a subscription fee. Add this one to your favorites in same folder as cnet and others

usil--I am on PCMag's mailing list and got the notice yesterday or the day before. Are you sure these are downloads for free use or downloads for trial and eventual decision whether to pay? The latter was the impression I got, so I deleted the email.
I also went to the URL you provided and entered searches for FavOrg and EndItAll1 which were two of the most wanted PCMag's programs (after they started charging, of course ) Neither one seem offered.
If you find I am incorrect, please let everyone know.

    Welshjim,
PCMag are offering a large number of programs for free download. Some are shareware, others demo, and many freeware. They have not included ALL of their downloadable programs as far as I know. Those, you would probably get if you were to pay the subscription fee. In any case, they claim there are thousands of programs available for download without paying a single cent.
Indeed, after doing a search on their site, FavOrg and EndItAll1 are downloadble only after you pay a subscription fee.

    Looks like 'shareware' to me:
    Quick Facts

    Author: Happy Tripper Productions
    License type: Shareware ($19.95)
    30 Days
    Categories: Personal Information Managers

And here's what i got when i searched for a lil' fav of mine that they "used to" offer for free. 'HD Valet'

The PC Magazine Utility Library is now available by subscription only. For just $19.97 (or $14.97 if you're a current subscriber to PC Magazine's print or digital edition), subscribers get full access for 12 months, including: great new files and updates throughout the year -- usually one per month -- access to all 130+ useful, smart utilities in the Library, and technical support.

One reason i dumped PC Mag quite some time ago.Not to mention their popup(and under) ads...

I d/l the disk space explorer home edtion and it was a 30 day trial.

Other than telling me that there was slack space using x mb of hd space I didn't see what real purpose it served as drilling down into the directories simply revealed it was files that I can't delete anyway.

I guess it may have identified something I missed in my normal disk maintenance but in this case no so I restored my ghost image of pre disk space explorer installation.

If you want many of the old PCMag programs for free, enter the name into www.google.com. You may get lucky.
For example, EndItAll1 (which many prefer to EndItAll2)
    http://www.the-old-sea-dog.net/enditall.html
    and FavOrg
    http://www.pctip.ch/library/downloads/dl.asp?id=1840
Of course, all such downloads should be screened by antivirus before executing--just in case.
Ridgerunr--interesting site!! Sorry to see that EndItAll is v2.

Ya' Jim,,don't care for vers. 2 myself. vers. 1 has been tucked away on disk for many moons.
Another place you can get vers. 1 is here: http://www.compu-docs.com/links.htm They offer several other programs too. Some easy to find, some not so easy anymore...
