Hi, I have a problem, this CD drive no longer works, the LED constantly flashes and when I put in a CD, it tells me it is not accesible or something like that. Can someone help? I can't send it to them for repairs because I no longer have the documents a proof of purchase. Is there anything I can do?

Have you looked in device manager for any yellow splats with ! or ? marks on the cdrom?

Also you can go into Safe Mode and check to see if you have multiple installs of the driver. Safe Mode is the only place where you can see them. If you do have them, remove all instantes of the them and reboot. Windows will detect the cdrom as a new equipment and install the driver.

A new cdrom can be gotten for $18. So not much reason to fight for very long in my book.

It says the drive is working correctly. No yellow splats or anything, just normal. What directory will the drivers be? How would I find them?
