Is it safe to delete "log" files in Outlook Express?

In my Programs>Outlook Express file I have to two files with a lot of historic information on useage of Outlook Express. They are: Pop3.log and Smtp.log.

Is it safe to delete the contents of these files?

    Thanks,

I believe it is safe to delete these files however, make a backup of these files before you delete them just in case. Have all programs closed closed when you delete them.
I apologise for stating something you already know.

Even better, just turn logging off (you must have turned it on for some reason)

In OE, go to Tools--> Options --> Maintenance tab and uncheck the buttons at the bottom.
