I am getting ready to build my first P/C, and I noticed that yours is basically the same thing I was wanting to build. I've already purchased 2 sticks of Kingston 512 PC2700, XP 2700processor, Lite On, CDRW & DVD Rom, Enermax 400watt power supply. I am still undecided about a Mobo & was wondering how you liked the one you have? Also...how do you like the XP2700?
I've only had the Compaq that's in my signature about 2months and it moves pretty good with the XP2400...........But I found out it only has a 200 watt power supply, and the only thing you can adjust in bios is the date, time, & boot order. Thus, I'm building one from scratch & putting the Compaq in the the kids room.

Hey, sorry havent responded proptly...(had a couple of lan games to battle against this weekend)

The mobo I got is great man. But it really all depends on what you will be using it for.

I got the ultra because it gives me the option for firewire, raid and a highly configurable. I also got this board for the mere fact that it offers dual bios (so in case of accidental bad bios flash) I have actually done that to one of my other mobos, and there was no way of fixing it.

I just recently upgraded from a 2400 to a 2700, I didnt see much of a increase in speed (maybe like 100 mghz) But still. It does perform quite well. If you have perused around the forums a little bit you may have seen my questions about overclocking.

I want to over clock my processor because I know the 2400 can handle it but I'm a bit of a wuss, I'm afraid I might fry my processor, and being that I dont have much money to replace...I will have to wait..

Let me know if you have any other questions...I would be glad to help!!

Thanks for replying dude, but I ordered a ASUS #A7N8X last night. It was the top pick in Maximum PC. I'm gonna start putting it together in the next few weeks & I'll post how my new PC turns out when I'm done. I'm very interested in overclocking as well. Let me know what you find out.
