Listen on the net w/o spyware

Is there a software package that will allow a user to listen to stuff on the net without risking stuff being lifted off your hard disk while you're in the process? I've heard REAL AUDIO embeds code that reports your surfing habits..among other things. Also..is there a program that will squirrel away a copy of anything that leaves your computer via the modem?

For the music stuff, try using WinAmp to listen to SHOUTcast streams. Depending on where you are and how generous your ISP is, they may even host a few relays so you can listen without stuttering when things get congested. Unfortunately, if you want to listen to RealAudio streams you're pretty much stuck with RealPlayer as far as I know.

As for capturing network traffic, you can use something like Ethereal, but unless you're looking for something specific you'll get floods of stuff and have no idea where to begin looking.
