    XP Pro. Installation over XP Home?

    I got a OEM copy of XP Pro. It says I cannot install it over XP home. Is this true or is it MS's way of saying that's what you get for buying at computer shows. Is there a work-around?

    You can't upgrade with an OEM disk, however, you certainly should be able to do a clean install.

    Yes you can upgrade with a non-OEM disk. Because OEM disks are really only supposed to be supplied with a new system MS took the upgrade facility out.
