Ski, I've tried the slash as you've told me and I still get 'Cannot find the file D:\SETUP or one its components.'
paisan, I've tried the Nikon European site to download the software. After I chose Nikon View 5 and pressed download, I could hardly believe my eyes when I got 'You are not authorised to view this page.' I was told to go the nikon-euro.com home page and use any email address (Nikon really make hard.)
I emailed the webmaster, that's what I was invited to do. Here's what I got back.

Finally I found a link to the UK site. There I was allowed to post a question to a technician.
I'll report back here when I get a reply.

Manual removal of registry entry for Nikon View software:
http://www.europe-nikon.com/support....&languageId=22
Save the key first before you remove it just it case other problems pop up when you delete this key from the registry.
BTW, did you ever test your cd in another pc to see if it was working?

I tried to run the CD on a friend's computer last night and it wouldn't work. I was indeed surprised as it's only a couple of weeks old and I handle my CDs carefully.
This morning I made a journey to the computer I bought the Camera from. They tried the CD on one of their computers and it wouldn't run either. They gave me a replacement.
When I got home I put in the CD and it ran immediately. I installed the software and I got my pics back on Nikon View again.
Paisan and the others, thanks for supporting me through this promlem. I hope I haven't wasted too much of your time. I should really tried the CD on another computer earlier. Paisan, I filed all the leads and links you gave me, they might prove useful another time.
